How to turn your tablet into a digital photo frame

Fravora setup is built for speed. Most users can move from install to a running slideshow in under 10 minutes, whether they use Google Photos, local folders, NAS/SMB, or other supported cloud sources.

Step 1: Install and open Fravora

Download Fravora from Google Play or the Amazon Appstore and grant photo and media permissions so the app can read your selected sources.

Step 2: Add photo sources

Choose one or more source types based on your setup:

  • Local folders for fully offline photo playback
  • NAS/SMB shares for home network storage
  • Google Photos and other supported cloud providers for remote libraries

Step 3: Build your slideshow profile

Set interval, transition style, display mode, and daily running hours. You can keep the frame always-on or schedule active windows.

Step 4: Configure overlays and controls

Enable only the overlays you want: clock, weather, metadata, and now-playing. If needed, activate voice controls for hands-free operation.

Step 5: Dock your device and run

Mount the device, keep power connected, and set display timeout behavior for continuous use. Your Android device now works as a smart photo frame alternative.

Can I use an old Android tablet as a photo frame?

Yes. Older Android tablets are perfect for dedicated frame displays in homes and offices. Fravora works well with offline folders, NAS shares, and scheduled playback on older hardware.

Is Fravora an offline photo viewer for Android?

Yes. Local and NAS/SMB sources can run without internet, which is ideal for privacy-focused setups.
